Alison Brie makes her way to Netflix with The Horse Girl, a new drama movie coming up on Netflix. Alison plays a young woman who’s just coming to terms with her life. The trailer looks like a romantic drama or a coming of age movie, until Brie’s character drops the A word – ‘alien’ and adds the other ‘a’ word, abduction somewhere nearing the end of the trailer.

The trailer tells us only a wee bit about the movie’s plot – but enough to color me interested. So, basically, Alison’s character seems to be someone who has inherited the supernatural power to interact with aliens by her now-dead grandmother. Netflix is pandering a lot to space and sci-fi, and they are pretty good at it. So, chalk this one for your must-watch list.
Then there’s this weird cool aspect that’s someone joining the aliens and alien abduction concept to the concept of horses. In one of the scenes in the trailer, Brie’s character suffers a nosebleed – similar to how that girl suffered a nosebleed in Stranger Things.
Alison Brie has earlier been part of G.L.O.W that stupendous Netflix web series about women who were into professional wrestling in the eighties and the nineties. Fans and critics accept that Alison was the very soul of the series. Her fans are in for a treat with this one.
Along with Alison, the movie also stars Debby Ryan, John Reynolds, Molly Shannon, John Oritz, Jay Duplass and others. Jeff Baena directs a script that he writes with Alison Brie.
