The Hocus Pocus franchise is upon us. The movie didn’t make a dash at the box office on its release. However, it has become a fan favorite since then. There’s been talk of a sequel and the stories are making the headlines for the past five years.
Recently, IHC told you that the movie was coming back. At that time, there was this question about whether the Hollywood horror movie will return as a Disney+ series or a streaming movie. Apparently, fans didn’t like it and the movie is set for a traditional release.
There’s also news that most of the original cast is returning for Disney+ project. Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy are returning. There’s news that Thora Birch, who played the sister in the original movie, is also quite enthusiastic about returning to the project – if the story demands her character, that is.
On the book end of things, there’s a new Hocus Pocus novel in the works, There are some new characters. I don’t know whether the sequel novel will be the story that ends up as the script of the Disney+ project. The new characters are a young, female photographer and a very popular girl in school.
