Scooby Doo: Return to Zombie Island Releases on DVD Tomorrow

Scooby Doo Animated Horror Film

An entire generation of Indians have grown on the Scooby Doo cartoons. In fact, for many, Scooby Doo was the introduction to horror films for Indians of a certain age. While channels have stopped broadcasting Scooby Doo, the animated series and horror films in the franchise  are still strong out of India. In fact, tomorrow sees the launch of the Scooby Doo animated horror film, Scooby Doo 2: Return to Zombie Island. The trailer reveals that Scooby Doo and team win an all paid trip to another Island. None other than Alvira makes that announcement, setting the stage for whatever’s next. Here’s the synopsis:

Scooby-Doo and his pals win an all-expense paid vacation and embark on a trip of a lifetime to a tropical paradise. Their destination however, turns out to be Zombie Island. As soon as they arrive, they realize the place looks strangely familiar and is reminiscent of a trip they took years ago, in which they became wrapped up in a mystery involving zombies.  The gang soon learns that their trip to paradise comes with a price when the zombies re-emerge and attack their hotel.  Will Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang finally solve the mystery behind Zombie Island?”

Here’s the trailer of the latest Scooby Doo animated horror film:

Scooby Doo is a horror film and cartoon franchise that’s going strong since the past 40 years. The beloved characters are some of the most recognizable ones. In fact, one particular film that featured Scooby Doo and WWE superstars is one of my favorite animated horror films. Several celebrities have had cameos and full blown roles in the cartoon as well as the animated film series. The horror franchise has a live animation film under its belt, but that didn’t pan out too well. It’ll be interesting to see how this one works out.
