Marathi horror movie Kaaal releases on 24th January, 2020. There’s some more news coming in. At a recent event, director D. Sandeep revealed that Kaaal will release in Russia as well. The movie is one of the few Marathi movies that tackle the concept of paranormal investigation. In the movie, a quartet of friends poses as paranormal investigators to snatch a holiday in a bungalow in the Konkan area, only to find themselves in the midst of a haunting.
Kaaal has a young crew, comprising mostly of theater regulars. The combination is interesting, a horror movie that’ll have theater actors instead of some big names in the Marathi movie industry.

Kaaal is one of the few movies that have gained a Russia release. It will release in the theaters in Russia, just like a movie release in India, in theaters. D. Sandeep, the director of Kaaal exclusively shared this information to Indian Horror Club, during the press conference announcing the movie’s launch and release. Kaaal is the second major Marathi horror movie coming up after Vishal Furia’s Lapachhapi, that released in 2017, Interestingly, Kaaal also explores the semi-rural area of the interiors of Maharashtra. Bollywood too has reccently launched an onslaught of horror movies. Karan Johar will soon release Ghost Ship, a Bollywood horror movie that’s set on a ship. Then, we have the Go, Goa, Gone sequel hitting theaters. Not to mention the various other horror movies hitting screens this year.
