Peninsula is the title of the upcoming sequel to the classic zombie/travel horror movie, Train to Busan. The film has wrapped up and there’s a buzz that the movie will release early 2020.
That makes Peninsula one of the most anticipated horror movies coming out in 2020. The calendar for 2020 horror movies is already chock full. Sequels and reboots like Halloween Kills, The Grudge, The Invisible Man, The Conjuring 3 and others are vying for a release.

Train to Busan was one of the few runaway hits in 2016. It was one of the first Korean horror movies that made a mark in the Western and the Indian horror market. The horror movie’s class warfare, emotional underlay and raw performances made for great viewing. The horror movie proved the Asians can work wonders with tired concepts if they set their minds to it. It remains to be seen what Peninsula achieves.
Train to Busan has already become a franchise, with an animated prequel, Seoul Station having hit the screens already. Yeon Sang Ho directs the sequel, Peninsula. He directed the earlier part. Park Joo-suk wrote . The cast had Gong Yoo, Ma Dong-seok, Jung Yu-mi, Kim Su-an, Choi Woo-Shik, Ahn So-hee. The original is already up for an English remake, which, unsurprisingly, James Wan directs.
