An American Werewolf in London was one of the very first horror-comedy films. The comedy horror film was about a young man and his friend who are attacked by a werewolf. One of them dies and another might just turn into a werewolf. That film released in 1981 and was a smash hit. It actually won the Saturn Award for Best Horror Film. it also won the first Academy Award for Best Makeup.

John Landis directed the comedy horror film, starring David Naughton, Jenny Agutter and Griffith Dune. The film became a cult classic. The Bollywood horror film, Junoon, borrowing aspects from the film. There was a sequel to the film, An American Werewolf in Paris, close to sixteen years after the original film released.
The rumors about the film’s remake have been around since 2009. In 2009, Dimension Film announced that they were working on a remake of the film, with producers Sean and Bryan Furst. Sometime in 2016, rumors suggested that Max Landis was planning a remake of the film.
