The indie scene outside India is huge. More and more young directors and actors are making their own movies, horror and otherwise and putting it up on the streaming platforms. But the genre is not without its problems.  Speaking about the #Swiperight, Jane Sanger, the director said:

#Swiperight took 5 years to make and is expected to release by May 1, 2020. I had many disappointments with funding and producers in the beginning, but just kept plodding away and finally got it funded with a great crew and cast. Not so many women write horror so I feel very happy to have achieved making it.
