The Crow Reboot In The Works, News About Cast Awaited

Jason Momoa is famous for audiences for two iconic roles – one of Kal Drogo and another of the DC superhero Aquaman. Momoa is all set to add another iconic character to his role call – that of the revenge seeker Eric Draven in the reboot of The Crow.

Indian audiences mostly know The Crow because of Brandon Lee’s on-location death while shooting the movie in 1996. But since then, there’s been two sequels and a short-lived TV series. The initial talk was that  Corin Hardy (The Nun) will direct the movie.

Both of them exited the movie when Sony was on the verge of pulling out as worldwide distributors.  All this happened in 2018, according to this report on Bloody-Disgusting. Currently, the producers in talks are Davis Films, Highland Film Group, and Electric Shadow.

The Hollywood supernatural movie \is about a young man, Eric Draven and his fiance, Shelly, killed by a street gang. A year later, Eric awakens from the dead and avenges his and his fiance’s death.  There are three more sequels, City of Angels and Stairway to Heaven.

The third Hollywood supernatural movie in this franchise is  Wicked Prayer. At some point in time, Rob Zombie wanted to make a sequel titled 2037. There’s very little out there about this one, but I guess it’d put the mystical crow in a hyper future scenario.

The Crow joins the long list of sequels and reboots that movies from the seventies, eighties and nineties are seeing. We already have Blumhouse looking into material like The Invisible Man, Fantasy Island., Then there’s someone remaking Carrie for FX.
